Mentoring Terms and Conditions
1. Definitions
Mentoring Agreement – This document, together with any engagement letter or written scope, outlining the terms under which mentoring is provided.
Mentor – Moore About Homes Ltd, providing mentoring services under this agreement.
Mentee – The individual receiving mentoring support from Moore About Homes Ltd.
Engagement Letter – A written document or email confirming specific terms of the mentoring arrangement, including objectives, duration, frequency and fees.
Mentoring Services – The professional guidance, career support and personal development advice provided by the Mentor to the Mentee.
Confidential Information – All non-public personal, professional, or strategic information shared during the mentoring relationship.
2. Nature of Mentoring
Mentoring is a developmental relationship focused on reflection, growth and goal setting. It is not therapy, counselling, or formal coaching.
The Mentor will offer honest, empathetic and constructive feedback, drawing on professional experience and sector insight.
The Mentee remains responsible for their own decisions and actions.
3. Duration & Format
The mentoring relationship will begin and end on the dates specified in the Engagement Letter, unless extended by mutual agreement.
Sessions may be delivered in person, via video call, or by phone, depending on availability and preference.
Frequency and format will be agreed in advance and may be adjusted to suit evolving needs.
4. Virtual Session Delivery & Technology
Where virtual mentoring sessions are chosen, this will be delivered via secure video conferencing platforms (e.g. Google Meet, Teams) or phone, as agreed in the Engagement Letter.
The Mentor and Mentee are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and a quiet, private environment for sessions.
Moore About Homes Ltd will not be liable for technical disruptions beyond its control, but will reschedule sessions, where necessary.
5. Fees
Where mentoring is provided on a paid basis, fees will be confirmed in the Engagement Letter and invoiced monthly or per session.
Payment terms are within 7 days of invoice and will include VAT.
In person sessions, will require travel time and expenses to be paid.
Late payment provisions follow Moore About Homes Ltd’s standard consultancy terms.
6. Session Scheduling & Cancellations
Sessions will be scheduled in advance and confirmed via email or calendar invite.
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made with at least 48 hours’ notice. Late cancellations will be subject to a fee of 50%, or 100% if on the day of the appointment.
Moore About Homes Ltd will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes and maintain flexibility.
7. Confidentiality
All discussions between Mentor and Mentee are confidential unless disclosure is required by law or agreed in writing.
The Mentor will not share personal details or session content with third parties without explicit consent.
8. Boundaries & Responsibilities
The Mentor will:
Provide a safe, respectful and non-judgmental space for discussion.
Offer guidance based on experience, sector knowledge and best practice.
Maintain professional boundaries and avoid conflicts of interest.
The Mentee will:
Engage openly and honestly.
Take responsibility for their own development and follow through on agreed actions.
Respect the Mentor’s time and scheduling commitments.
9. Intellectual Property
Any materials, frameworks, or tools shared during mentoring remain the property of Moore About Homes Ltd unless otherwise agreed.
The Mentee may use these for personal development but may not reproduce or distribute them commercially.
10. Termination
Either party may end the mentoring relationship with 4 weeks’ written notice.
Immediate termination may occur in cases of misconduct, breach of confidentiality, or breakdown of trust.
11. Data Protection
Moore About Homes Ltd complies with UK data protection laws. Personal data will be handled securely and in accordance with the privacy policy.
12. Legal Status
This is a professional mentoring arrangement. It does not create an employment, partnership, or fiduciary relationship.
The Mentor is not liable for decisions made by the Mentee following mentoring sessions.
